The 5-Step Inspection Process
We implement a comprehensive "Gate-Keeping" process where a product cannot move to the next stage unless it passes the current inspection.
1. Raw Material Control
Quality begins at the source. We only source pig iron, scrap steel, and ferroalloys (Ni, Cr, Mo, V) from trusted suppliers.
•Strict Selection: All raw materials are inspected for physical purity to prevent impurities in the casting.
•Composition Verification: We strictly calculate and verify the chemical composition before production to ensure the alloy ratio meets the standard.
2. Melting & Casting Control (Centrifugal Casting)
The casting process determines the internal structure of the roll.
•Precise Temperature Control: We strictly control the pouring temperature and speed. This is critical for our Composite Centrifugal Casting process, ensuring a perfect metallurgical bond between the working layer and the core.
•Process Monitoring: Experienced technicians monitor the entire melting process to ensure the stability of the molten iron.
3. Heat Treatment Monitoring
Heat treatment is the soul of a roll, determining its final hardness and toughness.
•Standardized Cycles: We follow strict heating, holding, and cooling cycles tailored to each specific roll grade (e.g., Alloy Cast Iron, High Chromium) to achieve the optimal matrix structure.
4. Laboratory Testing & Metallographic Analysis
We utilize professional equipment to verify physical properties:
•Metallographic Inspection: Checking the microstructure (graphite shape, matrix structure, and carbide distribution) to ensure wear resistance.
•Hardness Testing: Using Shore (HSD) and Leeb (HL) hardness testers to ensure uniform hardness across the barrel and proper drop-off at the necks.
•Mechanical Property Verification: Ensuring the tensile strength meets the application requirements.
5. Final Inspection
Before shipment, every roll undergoes a final comprehensive check.
•Dimensional Check: Verifying tolerance, concentricity, and surface finish (Ra) using precision micrometers and gauges.
•Surface Integrity: A rigorous visual inspection is conducted to ensure the roll surface is free from sand holes, cracks, porosity, or other visible defects.
•Appearance Check: Ensuring proper painting, packaging, and rust prevention.
Full Traceability
We believe in accountability. Every roll produced by JTrolls is assigned a unique Serial Number.
We maintain a complete Quality Tracking Record for 5 years, which includes:
